Your 3 talks. Your 7 doesn't.

Dear Reader, a 3 on a Friday is the easiest combination in the whole set, because 3 is the sociable number and Friday has been waiting all week to be asked. Whatever you say today travels further than it would have on a Tuesday.

Three is expression, colour, and the particular pleasure of being heard. It’s the most sociable number in the set.

Conversations go further than expected today. Ideas turn up mid-sentence, which is a 3’s favourite trick. You find out what you think by saying it.

Something creative may want your attention, and it will not present itself as important. It’ll look like a distraction.

Three scatters, too. Six things start and none finish. On a 3 day that is not a failure, it’s the number doing what it does.

Let yourself be light. Light is not the same as shallow.

Three talks. Seven doesn’t. Three finds out what it thinks by saying it out loud to whoever is nearest, and seven finds out by going quiet for two days and then simply knowing.

Most people carry both, which is why an evening can start as the best night of the month and end with you in the kitchen wondering when everybody is going to leave. You weren’t pretending earlier. Both of those were you.

That isn’t rudeness and it isn’t a failure of nerve. It’s a 3 spending the battery and a 7 sending the bill.

The pair is unusually common in people who work with an audience. Teachers, performers, anybody who is warm for six hours and then unreachable. The warmth is real. So is the quiet afterwards, and neither one cancels out the other.

What 7 gives 3 is something worth saying. What 3 gives 7 is somebody to say it to.

If you go quiet on a Sunday after a loud Friday, nothing has gone wrong. That is the pair working, in order.

Being loud tonight and unreachable on Sunday are both allowed, and neither one needs explaining to anybody.
