An 8 today, and the pair of it is 4

Last Friday of the month, which is payday for a great many people and the day the quarter starts being totted up by everyone else. The number underneath it happens to be the one that handles exactly that.

Eight is where things come back. Payment, standing, results, the return on something set going long enough ago that you have stopped watching for it.

News with figures attached tends to land on these days. A decision confirmed, an amount agreed, something signed off by a person you have never met.

This number also picks up whatever you say to yourself about being worth it, and today those remarks carry further than usual.

Something arriving without a struggle is not evidence of a mistake. It is usually evidence of work you have forgotten doing.

Whatever comes in, it is yours to keep.

An 8 falling on pairing day, and the partner it belongs with is 4. They are the two working numbers in the set.

Four does the laying down. Routines, systems, the unlovely parts nobody photographs. Eight is the collection, and it comes round on its own schedule with no interest in how tired anybody is.

In one chart this makes somebody who looks like a late bloomer from outside. Nothing much for years, then a stretch where everything appears to happen at once, and people call it luck.

The hard part is the middle. A 4 stretch offers no feedback whatsoever, and without an 8 in sight it is easy to read the silence as proof the whole thing was misjudged.

If you are somewhere in the 4 half of this pair, nothing is wrong with the arrangement. The collecting end exists and it does not require chasing.

A quiet stretch is allowed to be the most useful thing you are doing this year.
