Dear Reader,
Ten mornings into September and the new routine has stopped feeling new, which is usually the point where the tiredness arrives. Nothing in the diary accounts for it, and today’s arithmetic isn’t going to hurry you along either.
Two is the number of pairs, patience, and the pause between things. It is the slowest number in the set and that is the whole point of it.
Something is arranging itself today and it isn’t finished. Two days are the middle of a sentence.
Expect people. A message that lands well, a coincidence, somebody saying the thing you needed a fortnight ago.
Two can tip into second-guessing. If you catch yourself collecting everybody’s opinion before you’ll trust your own, that’s the number talking, not a flaw in you.
Let it be slow. Slow is not the same as stuck.
