A 1 today, and the first move is yours

Two people this week have mentioned the same name to me, neither knowing the other, and by the second time I had stopped thinking it was nothing. September does that, and so does the number under today.

One begins things. What it rarely does is announce them, so a beginning arrives looking like a coincidence, or an idea that will not leave you alone in the car.

There is a tilt to a 1 day. Things that have not shifted all month can start moving, and usually nobody has to push them.

It can feel lonelier than the other numbers. Going first is quiet by nature, and quiet gets mistaken for being on your own, which is a different thing entirely.

Nothing here has to be decided by this evening. A 1 takes weeks to show what it started.

Notice which small thing has already begun.

Wednesday was an 8 and today is a 1, which is the same movement seen from opposite ends. One starts. Eight is what comes back.

The catch is the interval. Whatever a 1 sets going tends to be paid for by an 8 a long way down the line, and nobody is told the distance in advance. Some of it is two months. Some of it is nine years.

People with both strong in a chart tend to start well and give up at the wrong moment, three weeks before the thing would have turned. I have done it twice that I know of.

The kinder reading works backwards. If money or recognition lands on you now, look for what you began rather than what you did last week, because the credit usually belongs somewhere older than you think.

Nothing today needs starting or finishing. There is a gap between the two numbers and you are allowed to be standing in it.

You are allowed to take credit for something you started so long ago that you have stopped mentioning it.
